60-Minute One-on-One Coaching Session A successful public policy career starts with a clear goal and an understanding of how your experience supports your progress. This personalized 60-minute coaching session will help you clarify your public policy career direction and identify the skills, experience, and strengths you can leverage. Whether you are new to public policy, transitioning from another field, or planning your next move, we will take a strategic look at your current position and future goals. During the session, we will review your professional background, interests, accomplishments, transferable skills, policy interests, and career goals. Together, we will identify experiences and strengths that position you for opportunities in government, legislative offices, nonprofits, government relations, consulting, and other policy-focused sectors. We will also identify potential gaps in experience, knowledge, skills, relationships, or field exposure that you may need to address to achieve your career goals. Most importantly, we will establish measurable short-term goals to help you advance toward your public policy career. Depending on your needs during this Session, we may explore: • Your desired public policy career path and the roles or sectors that best align with your interests • Your relevant professional, academic, volunteer, leadership, and community experiences • Transferable skills valuable in public policy • Your strongest professional assets and their relevance to your desired career • Policy interests or areas for further expertise development • Potential gaps in experience, skills, knowledge, or relationships • Short-term priorities and measurable goals to advance your career By the end of this session, you should have greater clarity about your goals, your strengths, areas for growth, and the immediate steps to advance your public policy career. Instead of asking, “How do I get into public policy?” you will begin to consider, “Where do I fit, what value do I bring, and what should I do next?” Depending on your individual needs, you will leave the session with some of the deliverables listed below.
