About Kathy

I have over ten years of investment banking experience, spanning bulge bracket and boutique / middle market firms, such as JPMorgan, Blackstone (now PJT), and Lincoln International. I primarily worked on mergers & acquisitions, capital raises, and restructuring engagements. After banking, I co-founded two companies and raised nearly $40m in VC funding. I currently work with start-ups and high-growth companies as a fractional CFO or consultant. I have also led investment banking new hire training programs, as well as on-campus investment banking interview prep seminars, for the last 8 years.

Why do I coach?

As a liberal arts student at Northwestern University (and a child of immigrants), I felt very lost and overwhelmed by the on-campus recruiting process. I had almost no accounting or finance course experience. Somehow I fumbled my way through the interview process, and secured an offer at JPMorgan. I sprinted up a steep learning curve and was able to build a successful career, working my way up from Analyst to Director. It changed my life and I'm forever grateful for my investment banking experience. But these days, you can't fumble and stumble your way into investment banking. The recruiting process has become exponentially cut throat and competitive. It also favors students who attend target schools, and have familial connections to Wall Street. I want to democratize investment banking recruiting by helping students master the interview process, regardless of background or course experience. I love teaching, and watching new concepts "click" for my students. My students have landed offers with top banks, including Goldman Sachs, Jefferies, and Morgan Stanley.
