About Karan Vir
I’ve spent much of my early career navigating decisions that sit at the intersection of ambition, uncertainty, and identity, often choosing paths that were not linear or obvious. Through those experiences, I found myself naturally becoming a sounding board for friends and peers, helping them slow down, think clearly, and make decisions they could stand behind. Outside of work, I’ve always pursued interests beyond a traditional professional track, including music, competitive table tennis, and leadership within YPO Next Generation. These experiences shaped how I think about growth and self expression, and helped me understand how to translate non traditional or creative pursuits into language that resonates in applications, interviews, and resumes, something many strong candidates struggle to do. My approach to working with people is thoughtful, honest, and practical. I focus on helping individuals find clarity, communicate their story in their own voice, and show up confidently in conversations without sounding rehearsed. I value reflection over polish and substance over templates. People tend to work with me when they want a clear perspective, candid feedback, and a supportive but direct sounding board. I care about helping people make choices that align with who they are, not just what looks impressive on paper.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I know how overwhelming high stakes decisions can feel when you are trying to do the right thing but do not yet have clarity. Throughout my own journey, the moments that mattered most were not when someone gave me an answer, but when someone helped me think clearly, ask better questions, and trust my own judgment. I was fortunate to benefit from mentors and honest conversations at key points, whether that was deciding between paths, preparing for interviews, or figuring out how to tell my story in a way that felt true to me. Those experiences showed me how powerful it can be to have a thoughtful sounding board, especially when the pressure is high and the options all look similar on paper. Coaching matters to me because I genuinely enjoy helping people slow down, make sense of their experiences, and move forward with confidence rather than doubt. I find a lot of meaning in being part of that process and in helping people make decisions they can stand behind.
