About Joshua
Hey! My name is Joshua — I'm originally from Singapore and am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. I recently navigated the deferred MBA admissions process and earned admits to Harvard, Wharton, and Columbia — as an Asian international student without the typical brand-name firms on my resume — so I intricately understand how to craft a standout profile against the odds. Over the years, I’ve distilled my experiences into a coaching style that’s helped 50+ students break into top internships, jobs, and academic programs. My approach is direct, structured, and no-fluff: sharp frameworks, honest feedback, and tailored strategy. If you're serious about competing at the highest level, I'm here to help you get there. Whether you're a domestic or international student, with a traditional background or not, I cover all angles. My experiences lie at the intersection of finance, technology, and public policy. I'm currently working for the Singapore government honing economic policies that advance my country's long-term growth, and I also interned across the financial services and investment management industries during my college summers. Before CMU, I served two years in the Singapore Army as a sniper and paratrooper. If my profile resonates with you, let’s chat!
Why do I coach?
I spent a year and a half navigating the deferred MBA admissions process during my junior and senior years, meticulously planning, strategizing, and reworking my profile—often feeling like I was stumbling around in the dark. I couldn’t have made it through without the help of mentors who offered guidance and perspective at just the right moments. But coaching for me goes beyond the application itself. As an international student, I know what it feels like to be an outsider in a new environment, facing unfamiliar challenges. I want to help you overcome that same feeling. Having been through the process myself, I offer empathetic support and honest feedback, using my experience to help you streamline your journey and push confidently toward your goals. Together, we’ll transform your grit into a compelling story that opens doors to the world’s top MBA programs. Working with me won’t just get you through the MBA process; you’ll walk away with a deep, unshakable confidence in your story that stays with you far beyond the application.
