Over the last five years, I've developed a toolkit to fundamentally change the way many students approach the MCAT. A reasoning test first and foremost, I've built on my foundational teaching skills to help students not only meet their goals, but often exceed them. Going through the premed process can be arduous and anxiety-provoking, and preparing for a high-stakes examination like the MCAT is no exception. I've honed in on skills fostered through years of working as a mentor and teacher with the CURB Peer Mentorship Program, teaching in local K-12 high schools in Ithaca through 21st Century & REACH and conducting in-person and online MCAT tutoring with both Yale and Cornell undergrads. Now, having adapted a course full of materials, strategies, and resources to guide my students, I'm excited to use Leland's platform to share my insights and strategies to the next generation of future physicians. I scored in the 99th percentile in the MCAT, but what sets me apart is my motivation to adapt and invest in the needs of every one of my students. From personalized Anki decks for each AAMC content outline, to unique, integrative protocols to optimize students’ approaches to each MCAT section, I strive to go above and beyond as a resource for my students.
