Most consulting coaches took the standard route — target school into campus recruiting, or an MBA into MBB. I didn't. I studied engineering at Harvard, then spent 4 years at a PE-backed govtech company running sales and marketing before taking over the product and software engineering teams. I broke into BCG as an experienced hire, without an MBA, and made Project Leader. If you're making that jump from industry and can't figure out how to make your operating experience sound like consulting experience, that's the exact problem I had to solve for myself. I also sat on the interviewer side for 20+ live case interviews at BCG. That's what shapes how I coach — I know what's actually being scored, where interviewers check out, and which good-sounding answers quietly miss the bar. Most prep teaches you to perform a case.
