About Elena

My name is Elena and I am a first-year medical student who is passionate about public health, everything food-related, and sports. I'm a born-and-raised Chicagoan who has also lived in New Orleans, Louisiana and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Although medicine is the field that I am ultimately pursuing, I have been lucky to have diverse academic experience in a variety of fields: cell biology, Spanish, urban studies, epidemiology, history, you name it! Living and studying abroad for four months in Argentina was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am especially grateful for. I truly love to learn and plan to continue to do so through all the years to come. In my free time, you are most likely to find me curled up with a good book, attending to my sourdough starter, or on skates playing ice hockey. I'm looking forward to get to know you!
