About Dan
I’m a former Investment Banker and Private Equity Vice President with experience investing in high-growth software, AI and technology companies, including working on an investment in a company now valued at $5 billion. My PE experience spanned the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and diligence to financial modeling, deal execution, and portfolio company strategy. My path into private equity wasn’t seamless. I spent close to a year interviewing before breaking in, so I understand firsthand how challenging and frustrating the process can be. Over time, I learned that success goes beyond knowing the technicals—you need to understand how investors think, communicate with conviction, and know what interviewers are actually assessing. I bring experience from both sides of the table and provide direct, practical coaching across IB and PE interviews, technicals, LBOs, case studies, deal discussions, and recruiting strategy.
Why do I coach?
Breaking into private equity was one of the more challenging periods of my career, and having a coach in my corner made a meaningful difference. They helped me understand where I was falling short, sharpen my approach, and navigate a recruiting process that can be difficult to figure out on your own. That experience stuck with me. Now that I’ve had the opportunity to work in both investment banking and private equity, I want to provide that same support to others trying to break into the industry. I especially enjoy working with candidates who have the ability and work ethic but need help translating that into interview performance. Sometimes a few targeted changes in how you approach technicals, discuss deals, structure an investment thesis, or tell your story can completely change the outcome. I coach because I’ve been in that position myself, and I know how valuable it is to have someone who understands the process helping you navigate it.
