About Colin
Colin Weidmann is a Stanford GSB MBA graduate, former U.S. Army Green Beret, and current Chief of Staff at a private equity-backed healthcare company. He brings a rare combination of elite leadership experience, business strategy, and deep insight into top-tier MBA admissions. Before business school, Colin spent 11 years as a Special Forces Officer, leading high-performing teams in complex, high-stakes environments across the globe. He successfully earned admission to Stanford GSB, Harvard Business School, and Wharton, giving him firsthand insight into what elite programs seek and how military leadership can be translated into compelling business school narratives. After the GSB, he joined Shore Capital Partners’ CXO program, where he now drives strategic initiatives, M&A diligence, and operational transformation in healthcare. Colin’s coaching specialty is helping military and non-traditional applicants translate elite leadership experience into clear, authentic, and differentiated MBA applications. He has coached veteran candidates with both special operations and conventional background into top programs including Stanford GSB, Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, and Haas, focusing on story development, leadership framing, positioning strategy, and execution discipline. His coaching style is structured, direct, and deeply personal — built to help candidates articulate who they are, what they value, and where they are going, in a way that resonates powerfully with admissions committees.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I genuinely enjoy helping people achieve the dreams they once thought were out of reach, especially those transitioning out of the military. I know firsthand how difficult it is to translate military leadership into language that admissions committees understand, value, and can compare to traditional business backgrounds. When I went through the process, I realized how many strong candidates undersell themselves simply because they do not know how to frame their experiences. Having navigated that journey myself, I feel a deep responsibility to share what I learned and help others tell their stories with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
