About Colin
I'm the founder of Leader's Advantage where I build AI powered tools for investment research and financial analysis including the AI Valuation Assistant. It is a website/platform that automates DCF modeling, ingests SEC filings, and cuts manual modeling time by over 90%. I designed the product, orchestrated the architecture, wrote the code with AI assistance, and shipped it end to end. Before going out on my own, I spent nearly a decade in finance and strategy including earning my CFA charter, managing $500M+ in client assets, and helping grow Mint Mobile more than 5x to a $1.35B acquisition by T-Mobile. I've been the analyst, the strategist, the product lead, and the founder. I know what each of those transitions actually requires.
Why do I coach?
I want to help people develop skills using AI within finance. AI is rapidly evolving and is it is difficult to keep up with the latest changing technology if you do not have the time and are not building with it. • Designed and launched the AI Valuation Assistant, www.aivaluationassistant.com. Built an AI powered workflow tool that delivers AI powered DCF and comps modeling by ingesting SEC filings, normalizing financials, and automating sensitivity analysis with real time data. The platform enables users to adjust inputs and download the modeling into Excel. • Designed and implemented modular APIs and orchestration layers to support large language models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and automated data standardization across Python, SQL, LangChain, Vector Databases, and CI/CD pipelines. Delivered AI derived data pipelines that improved data quality, reduced manual modeling effort by over 90% and over 1.5 hours or approx. ~$300 per company analyzed, and established repeatable, auditable workflows for investment research and valuation analysis. Developed AI workflows and agents that saved clients hours of time, protected client data, and saved no less than thousands of dollars per automation. • Helped grow the company value by 5x to an eventual $1.35B sale to T-Mobile, with revenue increasing by over 275% during the course of employment, aided by detailed analyses and projects. • Avoided losses of $2 to $50M by conducting rigorous valuation analyses and due diligence on potential strategic acquisitions. • Built market intelligence pipelines to analyze MVNO/telecom competitors, screen potential acquisition targets, and inform corporate development strategy. • Drove cross-functional strategy development across finance, product, marketing, and data teams, aligning pricing, acquisition, and growth objectives with executive and board priorities. • Increased customer lifetime value (CLV) and avoided overages by building accurate forecasts of subscriber data usage on data plans.
