Anna Wan

As a current JD/MBA candidate at the University of Michigan, I bring firsthand experience navigating competitive admissions, dual-degree programs, and BigLaw recruiting. I’ve coached students toward law school, BigLaw, and career goals, and I particularly enjoy helping applicants identify the strongest thread across their experiences and turn it into a clear, compelling application. My own background spans a wide range of academic and professional environments, including Wellesley, Oxford, MIT, Michigan Law, and Ross. I studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Oxford and international development at MIT, and have worked internationally in Botswana, Colombia, China, India, and South Korea. I’ve also served as an Albright Fellow and presented policy briefs to Secretary Madeleine Albright, spoken at the Oxford Union, worked as a Young Ambassador with the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center, and held summer associate roles at Latham & Watkins and Jones Day. Coming from an immigrant family has also shaped how I think about education, opportunity, and navigating unfamiliar institutions. Because I’ve moved across different schools, disciplines, countries, and career paths, I can offer especially useful guidance to applicants with unconventional backgrounds, international interests, dual-degree ambitions, or BigLaw goals.
