About Andrew Breaking into AI, or moving into more senior roles in the field, is difficult because much of the advice available online has very little to do with how hiring decisions are actually made or how AI teams operate once you are inside them. I have spent my career inside those environments. I worked during the early GPT-2 and GPT-3 era at OpenAI, led AI product experience at Spotify, and later worked on AI strategy at Coinbase. I work with people who want judgment, not another playbook. Sometimes that means figuring out which roles genuinely fit your background. Sometimes it means understanding why your current approach is not working. And sometimes I will tell you that the opportunity you are chasing is the wrong one. I am not interested in convincing anyone to work with me. I will not chase you after a conversation, manufacture urgency, or turn every interaction into a longer engagement. I spent 5 years at OpenAI (2016-2021) during the foundation of modern AI, followed by 3 years as Head of AI - Product Experience at Spotify, where I led teams building AI systems that served 500M+ users. Why do I coach?

There were points in my career when I genuinely did not know what the next move was. A handful of people gave me something far more valuable than encouragement: their judgment. They told me what they saw, what I was missing, and where I had more opportunity than I realized. Some of those conversations changed my life. I coach because I know what that kind of access can be worth, and I do not think access to it should always depend on what someone can afford. Some of the people I most want to help may never pay me anything. Paid or not, the deal is the same.
