Amanda’s CPA Qualifications

I got my CPA license after studying for 18 months. I got my CPA because I was stubborn and that's what I was told accounting majors did. After grit and bearing through 18 months of depression and isolationism, I successfully got my license, only to realize I never wanted a career where I would utilize it anyway. Whether you're questioning if you should pursue a CPA or whether you've decided that's the right path and want support in moving forward with it, I can help! I bring a unique perspective as someone that has a LOT of lessons learned from pursuing my CPA - how to have a work / life / study balance and not make the same mistakes I did, how to most effectively manage your time and increase your productivity, how to bounce back if you fail an exam, reflecting on whether the CPA is even the right choice for the career you want to pursue, etc. If any of that resonates, let's connect!

About Amanda

Hello and welcome to my profile! I have a rather complicated route to where I got today, with a background in management consulting in a variety of subject matters, industries, and countries. For the last few years, I have been developing my skills at a certain (green) Big 4 Consultancy, working in Washington, DC, New York City, and London. Over the years, I have honed in on my interests, passions, and skillsets, moving from audit to internal controls / financial consulting to human capital consulting to working internally on a global team, and want to help you do the same! My journey began at PwC, where I developed a strong foundation in public sector consulting, before moving to my current company and trying out both private sector human capital consulting and working internally with our member firms around the world. Over the years, I've successfully coached multiple people in my company, assisting them to find roles internationally and giving general career advice, coached students interested in consulting as a profession, and acted as a mentor and orientation facilitator for new joiners at my company to share my experiences and prepare them for what's to come. My coaching style is very casual yet organized. I want it to feel like you're confiding in a friend, while also feeling supported by the strategies I'm providing and anecdotes I bring to the table. Whether it's talking through the intricacies of the consulting application process, helping you put a plan in place for applying to work internationally, telling you tips and tricks I've learned from studying for the CPA, talking through what it means to be neurodiverse in today's professional world, or just bouncing ideas back and forth and being a listening ear during your life transitions, I'm here to help you succeed. Let's connect!

Why do I coach?

I coach because I've had unbelievable sources of wisdom and supportive mentors in my life that have gotten me through the most uncertain of times and helped me make some of the toughest decisions. I wouldn't have gotten to where I am today without them. I am eternally grateful to those people in my life and want to pay it forward to others.
