About Alessandro
I am a McKinsey Senior Engagement Manager and Interviewer Lead with 10+ years in strategy consulting, and a former Managing Director across startups and tech scale-ups including Grab and HappyFresh. Before joining McKinsey, I went through the full MBB recruiting process myself and received offers from all three firms. At McKinsey, I interviewed and assessed hundreds of candidates across entry-level, experienced hire, and senior profiles, and led interviewer training and calibration. I know exactly what drives pass versus fail decisions, not in theory, but from real interview rooms. I combine that interviewer perspective with targeted, practical coaching. My work spans two areas. For MBB and consulting interview prep, I specialize in entry-level recruiting, industry-to-consulting transitions, and the full 2026 MBB selection process, including Solve, PEI, classic cases, and AI-integrated case formats. I do not teach frameworks, scripts, or model answers. I teach candidates how to think like consultants from a blank page, under pressure, with the same standards applied internally. Sessions are realistic simulations with direct feedback on structure, judgment, communication, and presence. For broader career coaching, I work with professionals navigating career transitions, step-ups into senior roles, executive job searches, and high-stakes interview processes outside consulting. My background across McKinsey, high-growth tech, and multiple industries gives me a grounded view of what strong candidates look like across very different hiring contexts. My startup and scale-up background matters because good performance under pressure is not about being clever. It is about making decisions with imperfect data, prioritizing fast, and standing behind a recommendation. That is what I coach across all contexts. Why do I coach?
I became a coach because I genuinely enjoy seeing people get into rooms they thought were closed to them. That satisfaction is real, and it drives everything I do. On the capability side, I bring something most coaches cannot: an executive career spanning McKinsey, Grab, and HappyFresh, across consulting, tech, and consumer sectors. I know what strong leadership looks like at the top, what interviewers are actually screening for, and how the best candidates think and communicate under pressure. I am not teaching theory. I am teaching what actually works. On track record, I have coached candidates across multiple continents, from Southeast Asia to South America and Europe, at different levels of readiness and for some of the most competitive processes in the world. Some came to me with zero case experience. They left ready to compete. That combination of cross-sector executive credibility, structured methodology, and a genuine interest in the person in front of me is what makes my coaching work.
