I had the opportunity to shadow and meet Dr. Olafsson as a college student when she was an intern in the emergency department. She made sure to be welcoming, took the time to explain every patient interaction, and was very open about her medical school process. Although she was busy as an intern, she would meet with me outside of work to discuss the medical school process for me and gave useful advice on what jobs or activities would be helpful to pursue during my gap year to help bolster my application, the timeline of applying to medical school, and MCAT preparation. She was the first person to introduce me to the idea and process of an MD/MBA, which I now plan to pursue as an applicant. Even now, I am grateful I kept in touch with her, as she continues to help guide me in the applications and decide how to maximize my chances of getting into medical school.

I worked with Skyler for two years for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Northwestern University. Skyler was great to work with, he has such a ‘dad’ personality that really puts you at ease.
