On the industry side, I've worked as a Program Management intern at Microsoft (federal contracts team) and as a Consulting Analyst at Stout on the IP and data team, and I'm about to start as a Business Analyst at Capital One. That mix means I've seen hiring up close at a big tech company, a boutique consulting firm, and a large corporate analyst program — three very different processes, three very different "what actually gets you hired" playbooks. On Campus at the University of Illinois I had served as a Project Director at the Illinois Consulting Group, where I've been staffed on projects spanning every major industry, and I've spent the last few years mentoring dozens of students trying to break into tech and consulting. I'm Marisa — a Chicago Booth MBA, former McKinsey consultant, and I held simultaneous offers from McKinsey, Bain, and BCG. I graduated from the University of Oxford and spent over 4 years at McKinsey, working across 8 countries and 9 industries, on engagements as diverse as gold mining in Papua New Guinea to pricing chemicals in Germany.
