How you start your case lays the groundwork for how the rest of your case goes — it’s your intellectual first impression. In an interactive, live simulation workshop, Ben Lazaroff (ex-McKinsey) and Claire Rafson (ex-Bain) will guide you through structuring your case frameworks, from initial brainstorming to effectively communicating this critical opening of the phase. Ben was a a trained McKinsey interviewer and Senior Consultant who conducted both on-campus and virtual interviews. He earned his MBA at Stanford GSB (’21) and worked with dozens of consultants to land MBB offers through Leland. Claire was a trained Bain interviewer and campus recruiting lead for Dartmouth, with a strong focus on diversity recruiting. She supported both on-campus and virtual interviews. She is currently at Stanford GSB (’25) with extensive case-coaching experience. Both Claire and Ben have capacity to work on case-coaching, and looking to take on a select group of folks to help them prepare for interviews this coming cycle.
4 model examples of how to establish a framework with expert consultants offering their structures and opening the floor to critique
Understand the most important pointers for effectively communicating your structure so your interview can clearly follow your thinking
Learn guiding heuristics for setting up your primary “buckets” in a given framework, how much time to spend diving into each, and broader approaches that go beyond memorization

I LOVE Case Interviews. I spent years as an Consultant at Bain & Company (after interning), where I oversaw recruiting for Dartmouth College. I received offers at both Bain and McKinsey and have supported many others in reaching their consulting dreams. There isn't a case I can't crack! Currently, as an MBA candidate and Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford GSB, I continue to expand my expertise. I specialize in helping clients navigate the rigorous consulting application process, from mastering case interviews to perfecting resumes and cover letters. Let's connect and strategize your path to success in the consulting world!
