From Idea to Published Book: A Roadmap for First-time Authors
About the event
Most first-time authors don't have a roadmap — they have a manuscript and a lot of unanswered questions. This livestream is the roadmap. In 30 minutes I'll walk through the eight stages of writing and publishing a book — from deciding whether you have an idea worth writing, to what happens after the book is published. Each stage has key decisions that affect everything downstream. Miss one early and you pay for it later. I've been a writing partner on 27 published books — most with Wiley — on entrepreneurship, startups, venture capital, and leadership. I serve on the Editorial Board of Entrepreneur & Innovation Exchange (EIX), reaching 15 million readers annually. I have a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago and have published my own books with the University of Chicago Press. This session is free and open to anyone thinking about writing a book. Everyone who attends gets The Author's Roadmap: From Idea to Published Book — a one-page guide to the full journey.
