Hello everyone! My name is Carlos and I am a first-year student at Harvard Medical School. I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2023 with a B.S. Social Justice in Medicine. At William & Mary, I attending on a full-ride through the 1693 Scholarship. I also received a number of academic honors, including the Albert & Phyllis Pre-medical Award, Hulon Willis Memorial Scholarship, and the Lord Botetourt Medal (given to the most distinguished undergraduate in the class). I applied to 20 U.S. medical school and was offered interviews at 16. I ended up attending 12 interviews, and was accepted at 8 of the schools and waitlisted at the other 4. At Harvard, I am a part of the Dean's REACH Scholarship program where I receive almost full finding for my 4 years. I have some interest in pursuing cardiology or dermatology, but am still exploring my options as a first-year. I am happy to help others achieve their medical school goals by reviewing essays, providing application/interview advice, and providing MCAT advice!

As a recent matriculate to medical school, the application process is still very fresh in mind. Having applied to schools in both the US and Canada, with several interviews and acceptances at top 15 schools, I bring an insider's perspective that will help you stand out at the most competitive schools in North America. I consider my application to be fairly unique, in that my extracurriculars weren't necessarily the "traditional" pre-med activities. Often times, this is what worries people - "I don't know if med schools will care that I did X." Hi! My name is Jennifer. In my undergraduate career, I received support from national and state college access programs, and as a way to pay it forward, I was brought back to mentor students as they pursued their professional and academic goals. Having read for these institutions, I know the difference between average and exceptional applications, and it all starts with the narrative.  Each student has unique experiences, and my goal is to craft essays that highlight my student's qualities and, above all, leave the readers wanting more. In medical school, knowing your “why medicine” is key, so throughout the writing and editing process, I encourage my students to consider how/if their organization, word choice, tone, voice, and style add to their narrative. In undergrad admissions, a similar approach applies, but this time, we answer: who am I, what matters to me, and how have I been shaped by the world around me? As a coach, I provide detailed feedback that guides students towards the end goal, and I also  read essays line by line until we have a stellar application–whether it be for AMCAS and AACOMAS or for Common App and the UC application. I'm an OB/GYN resident at UPMC with a decade of experience coaching applicants through the medical school process. I've helped dozens of students get into medical school, including several top-20 and Ivy-affiliated programs, and I've worked with applicants at every stage — from school list strategy to personal statement to interview prep. My path into medicine wasn't linear. I came from mechanical engineering and management consulting before medical school, which means I've built and coached a lot of non-traditional narratives. I know what a strong application looks like from the inside, and I know how admissions committees actually read them.
