I’m Tyler—a Wharton MBA/Lauder MA grad who’s been on every side of the MBA journey. I didn’t just navigate the process for myself—I’ve spent years helping others do the same. As a Wharton Admissions Fellow, I led group interviews for dozens of applicants and saw up close what makes someone stand out versus getting lost in the shuffle. I also interviewed candidates for the Lauder dual degree program, giving me rare perspective on what it takes to shine in specialized and international programs. Since graduating, I’ve supported future MBAs across industries, geographies, and career paths—many of whom went on to schools like Harvard Business School, Stanford GSB, Wharton (including Lauder), Booth, Northwestern Kellogg (including MMM), Tuck, MIT Sloan, and Columbia Business School. I’ve partnered with admissions professionals from nearly every top 20 MBA program through internal mentorship and grad school prep efforts—leading events and applicant support initiatives that gave me a window into how these teams think and what truly drives their decisions. I got into Columbia Business School off the waitlist with a $100K scholarship. I'm Josh, and as a re-applicant and "non-traditional" candidate who comes from an over-represented demographic background, I understand how confusing and challenging the MBA application process can be. Currently, I'm a rising 2Y at Columbia Business School who is passionate about entrepreneurship and early-stage investing. I work part-time as an early-stage VC investor and hold several leadership positions in both school clubs and non-profit organizations. In my free time, I'm working towards scratch golf and my first Ironman triathlon. As a former member of the MBA Admissions Board at Harvard Business School (HBS), I have firsthand knowledge of the admissions process and what it takes to build a compelling application. I also have experience working with college students applying for deferred admissions (I was part of the launch and management of the HBS 2+2 Deferred Admit Program).
