I'm a Harvard Business School MBA with a Northwestern undergrad degree in journalism. In my 10 years of MBA admissions work, I've coached clients who have been accepted at all M7 schools and they have earned more than $2 million in merit scholarships. I absolutely love helping applicants uncover their unique differentiators, which we all have but often people don't know how to identify them. I've worked with hundreds of applicants on every aspect of MBA applications from school selection to essays to interviews. My experience in journalism and public relations before my MBA and human capital consulting after HBS allows me to help my clients craft the most compelling and clear narratives for business school. I can also relate firsthand to those who have a more untraditional background (public relations certainly was not a popular entry point to HBS when I applied!) although I've worked with many clients from all industries, functions and geographies. I graduated from Columbia Business School in 2020 as a Meyer Feldberg Distinguished Fellow, which covered my full tuition. My path there was unusual. I spent two years at Accenture, then eight months as a TechnoServe volunteer consultant in Eswatini, then two years running new country expansion for One Acre Fund in Zambia. I scored 770 on the GMAT, and the scholarship came from the story I told about why a consultant moved to rural Africa and what I wanted to do next. I know how that story was built because I built it. Since then I've coached applicants through Wall Street Tequila and other admissions firms, most of them international students and young professionals from China and Asia applying to M7 and top-15 US programs. I work on the whole application, but the essays are where I spend most of my time, because that's where a strong candidate usually loses the scholarship. My approach is to find the one thing in your background that an admissions reader will remember a week later, then build every essay and the interview around it. I speak Mandarin and English natively, so if you're a Chinese speaker I can work with you in either language and help you turn an accomplishment that impresses people at home into one that impresses a reader in New York. I'll also tell you plainly which schools are a reach and which are a fit, because applying to the wrong list costs more than any coaching fee.

Never in my life could I have dreamed about ending up in Stanford. But I did. I went to school in Egypt and didn't have role models who obtained advanced degrees, let alone from the top MBA program in the world. It is not impossible. I am here to help as many people from a non traditional background end up in Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, Columbia and other top schools. I did a lot of research into which MBA programs I wanted to apply to and why. When applying, I carefully crafted a strategy centered around acing the GMAT exam and applying early to my top schools. In the end, I was able to get through the admissions process by getting admitted early into my top school, and in the end, I only had to apply to 3 programs. I was able to navigate this process with a great degree of optimization and I think a lot of that was because I had a clear vision for why I wanted to do my MBA and what I wanted to get out of it. Because I took the time to reflect on my story, I was able to put my best foot forward in my applications and experience great success. I'll now be matriculating to an M7 program this year.

I was accepted and matriculated to Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business after 2 years of management consulting and 4 years working at Starbucks Coffee Company in Corporate Strategy and R&D and Innovation. I went to business school to explore startups and a role in the technology industry. I am now a Senior Product Manager at Intuit. I have advised 10+ individuals on school selection, application, and career strategy. There is lots of noise on the MBA application process and lots of a bad advice.
