About Varun
Welcome to my profile! I’m a strategic executive with experience working in tech across industries and continents, and more recently, i scaling private equity-backed SaaS companies. I’ve been intentionally opportunistic in my career—switching roles, sectors, and geographies—which has shaped a global, nuanced view of how careers grow and evolve. Today, I serve as COO at Avionté, leading operations across implementation, training, customer success, and support. Earlier chapters at Epic, Amazon, and Harvard Business School gave me a strong foundation in execution, leadership, and customer obsession. I specialize in driving growth through org design, process optimization, culture-building, and automation, — and bring a candid, practical lens to coaching others through inflection points in their own paths.
Why do I coach?
I coach because I’ve lived what it means to build a career step by step—with grit, not shortcuts. I’m a first-generation American, raised by Indian immigrant parents in the Midwest. I didn’t grow up around high-powered careers or Ivy League role models. I wasn’t the typical Harvard Business School candidate—but I studied hard, stayed curious, and used every opportunity to take a step forward. That journey taught me how to navigate unfamiliar spaces, build confidence in high-stakes environments, and trust in my own potential—even when others didn’t see it yet. I coach because I want to pass that perspective on. I want to help others bet on themselves, find clarity in the mess, and grow careers they’re proud of—on their own terms.

In a lab investigating the genetic causes of Depression and Anorexia, I performed neurosurgery on, dissected, and sequenced the DNA of mice. This helped us better understand the genetic underpinnings of common psychiatric disease. Co-Authored 1 publication in Neuroscience: "Loss of estrogen-related receptor alpha disrupts ventral-striatal synaptic function in female mice."
