As a McKinsey interviewer for 2 years, I possess a deep understanding of what consulting firms look for in candidates, how the recruitment process works, and the common pitfalls that applicants often encounter. Throughout my career, I have primarily focused on working with banks and consumer-facing products, engaging in projects that encompass traditional consulting strategy as well as new product launches. This diverse exposure has allowed me to develop a comprehensive perspective on the industry, enabling me to guide aspiring consultants effectively. In addition to my hands-on experience, I have taken on the role of a mentor and coach for over 30 individuals navigating the management consulting interview process and beyond. I provide guidance not only on how to succeed in interviews but also on determining whether management consulting is the right fit for each individual. My coaching style is characterized by candor and directness, as I believe in providing honest feedback to foster growth and improvement. However, I also bring a human lens to my approach, valuing the importance of personal well-being and mental health alongside professional success. What sets me apart as a coach is my non-traditional background in visual arts, which initially made me believe that breaking into the consulting industry was an impossible feat. Despite initial setbacks, including interview mishaps and limited networking opportunities, I persevered and found success. As a strong introvert myself, I understand the challenges and doubts that aspiring consultants may face. My aim is to provide a relatable perspective and guidance, empowering individuals with strategies to thrive in the field while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. My recent experience in consulting ensures that I am up-to-date with the latest trends, particularly in the ever-evolving post-pandemic economic landscape.

I started my career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company and grew up through the Firm to Sr. EM (while also taking advantages of sponsorship for Secondment and my Kellogg MBA). In addition to my experience at the firm, I've lead recruiting and case coaching initiatives - both formally at McKinsey, and while at Kellogg - helping to case coach peers to offers at McKinsey, Bain and BCG. I specialize in helping candidates develop and tell their unique story - and leveraging that story to craft a compelling resume, optimize their LinkedIn presence, drive their networking strategy, shine in interviews and ultimately succeed on their first client project (yes - if you do get an offer, I'm here to help you navigate your first days, months or years as a consultant).

I received management consulting offers from McKinsey, BCG, and Bain and have worked at Bain for months on a higher education strategy transformation case. I have case-prepped over 30 UT Austin students, helping multiple students receive offers from Big 3 and Big 4 consulting firms. Hello! I'm Mervi, a current Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, where I work on tech, consumer / retail, and private equity due diligences. My journey in consulting began with a summer internship at L.E.K. Consulting, and currently am a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain. I've been passionate about helping others break into this competitive field and am an active member of the UC Berkeley recruiting team, helping with on-campus recruitment and resume selection. I worked in management consulting for five years across a variety of roles - as a Business Analyst, Engagement Manager, and in the office of the CEO at McKinsey & Company. I was also able to do a secondment at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for a year. At McKinsey, I was a Faculty member who led first and second-year analyst trainings and conducted hundreds of hours of interview coaching. And in college at the University of Michigan, I peer coached dozens of students to offers at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Accenture, Strategy&, and Deloitte.

While at EY-Parthenon, I've conducted 50+ case and behavioral interviews, and worked on recruiting teams for both undergrad and MBA programs. I've worked with consulting applicants from undergrad internships through post-MBA roles on everything from perfecting your resume to behavioral interviewing, refining your brand and nailing the case interview.

I have helped over 100 students with consulting interview preparation, resume and LinkedIn reviews, and academic applications (deferred MBA programs, fellowships, etc.). I have specifically found a great deal of success in MBB interview prep, helping over 25 students secure MBB offers at a 93% offer rate. My coaching style is highly human-centric and personalized, as I use behavioral health techniques to train students on how to channel their brightness with concision, clarity, and creativity. In terms of credentials, I have been a Scholarship Admissions Interviewer at USC, the President of 180 Degrees Consulting at USC, a Co-Founder of the USC Consulting Consortium, a Founding USC Recruiting Lead at McKinsey & Company, and the CEO of Blue Modern Advisory, a Professional Mentorship startup.

Annie worked as a Consulting Peer Advisor at the University of Michigan's University Career Center, where she provided comprehensive feedback to 10+ students weekly on mock behavioral and consulting case interviews. She helped 7 students secure an internship or full-time offer after continuous preparation and mentorship to the students, and had a client satisfaction rating of 100%. Annie has been through the consulting preparation stages in college when she applied for the Big 3 and Big 4 firms, and she has experience casing with partners and associates from McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Pwc, Deloitte, and many other boutique consulting firms.
