Satoshi’s Personal Finance Qualifications
Experience level: Associate
I've managed my own finances across three continents, through a career that moved from consulting to tech to nonprofit work in Cambodia. That means I've dealt with the questions most advisors never face: how to keep US retirement accounts funded while living abroad, what the foreign earned income exclusion does and doesn't cover, how to think about buying property in a country where you are not a citizen, and how to make a big career move without the money getting in the way. I hold an MBA from Columbia Business School and I've spent years researching my own investments in depth, reading the primary documents instead of the headlines, and sizing positions with a written plan before the outcome is known. I coach the way I'd want to be coached: start with what you want your life to look like in five years, work backward to the numbers, and build a system simple enough that you'll still be running it in year three. After our first three sessions you'll have a one-page plan that shows where your money goes and what you are investing in and why, plus a clear call on the one or two decisions coming up that matter most. If the basics need work first, we start there: paying down debt, building a cash buffer, or cleaning up old retirement accounts. I'm not a licensed advisor and I don't sell products, so we can talk openly about your actual situation. I'm most useful for people living or working abroad, people mid-career change, and people who want to understand their own investments well enough to stop outsourcing the thinking.
