Great to meet you. I have worked in Investment Banking for five years at both J.P. Morgan and, most recently, Centerview Partners in London. Having advised on a variety of M&A, equity and debt deals of all size and across sectors, including Healthcare, Consumer Retail & Business Services, and now moving into a new role outside of finance, I am well placed to help you break into investment banking. I help candidates prepare for investment banking by bringing the perspective of a principal investor who evaluates transactions, businesses, and financial analysis for real investment decisions. My experience spans private equity, growth investing, transaction evaluation, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and capital allocation across global investment platforms. I have worked at the Africa Finance Corporation, a $15B investment institution, the George Kaiser Family Foundation, a $5B platform, and now lead Zeus Global, where I source, underwrite, diligence, structure, and pursue acquisitions of software and technology-enabled businesses. I hold an MBA from Stanford GSB and a B.Eng. with summa cum laude honors. While my career has been on the principal-investing side rather than in a traditional investment-banking seat, I have spent years working with the same analytical foundation bankers are expected to master — and assessing the work product that ultimately supports investment decisions. I coach candidates on recruiting strategy, résumé and narrative positioning, accounting and valuation, financial modeling, transaction analysis, deal discussions, and technical and behavioral interviews. My focus is not simply helping candidates memorize answers, but helping them understand how the analysis fits together so they can communicate clearly, defend their thinking, and perform confidently under pressure.

I spent three years in M&A at Evercore in London, working on over $10bn of public and private transactions across fintech, consumer and natural resources. That included the $5bn sale of NEX Group to CME Group and the distressed sale of Flybe to a Virgin Atlantic-led consortium. I built the models and board materials, ran diligence processes end to end. What I bring beyond the technicals is the rest of the map. After Evercore I moved to the buyside — fintech investing at IFC, the World Bank Group's private equity arm, then growth equity at Apis Partners — and then to operating, as Chief of Staff at an a16z-backed company, before founding my own. So I can tell you what a given group leads to, which of two offers is the better trade three years out, whether buyside recruiting is realistic from where you're sitting, and what a banking background is worth when you eventually want out of banking. Most people make those decisions once, early, on very little information. I've made them, and I've watched a lot of other people make them well and badly.

Throughout my career, I have accumulated over 8,000 classroom hours, covering a wide range of topics including interview prep, accounting, corporate valuation, financial and business case modeling, M&A and LBO analysis, as well as advanced software techniques in tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. I have also led an annual interview prep workshop for the MBA and MIF programs and mentored students and conducted mock interviews at IE Business School since 2019. Before transitioning to teaching, I spent more than a decade in investment banking with Bear Stearns, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of America, working across the US, Europe, and Latin America. During my banking career, I also developed and led several internal training programs, including new analyst and associate training at Bear Stearns, healthcare-specific training at Deutsche Bank and Bank of America, and a training initiative for a team of analysts in India as part of the firm's offshoring strategy.
