I'm a human resources professional with an expertise in the science of adult learning and organizational change. I help people and organizations thrive. For 10 years at Google, I accelerated learning and performance for thousands of employees at scale and instituted cultural practices to spur novel innovations like self-driving cars. I've also coached over 100 leaders in 1:1 sessions, helping them navigate transitions, overcome limiting beliefs, define values, clarify vision, and more. I've been responsible for numerous business and HR programs including performance management, onboarding, talent management, talent development, leadership development, mobility, immigration, compensation, compliance, and global mobility. I also consulted with managers across Alphabet to design and deliver custom workshops to elevate team and leader effectiveness. About Grant
I am a developer but not the kind that builds apps. I develop people, teams, leaders, and organizations so they can be more effective and have a positive impact on the world. I care deeply about making people's lives better. The truth is that people spend a lot of their lives at work. That's why I chose HR as a profession. I want to make work better, and people work better. As a Talent Management and Development Leader, I am an architect of employee development and organizational culture. I use principles and tools from education, design, social psychology, change management, and organizational development to create engaging work environments where both people and organizations thrive. In the last 15 years, I've designed and facilitated a wide variety of development experiences, from teaching life skills to under served individuals in Nicaragua to institutionalizing continuous learning practices at Alphabet's moonshot factory to spur novel innovations like self-driving cars. During my 10 years at Google, I was fortunate to lead and support multiple global, strategic initiatives to accelerate employee learning and performance, drive organizational efficiency, and fuel the company's success. In my last role, I helped redesign and launch a new performance management approach globally for 180k+ employees. I also got involved in a number of side projects. I coached 100+ Google's on career- and leadership-related topics, developed and facilitated 25+ custom workshops with teams across Alphabet, and advised external many start-ups focused on sustainability and social impact. Most importantly, I'm a dedicated husband, proud dad of two adorable boys, and a committed Christian.
Why do I coach?
I coach because nothing makes me feel happier than helping someone learn and grow. :)
