Dental School Personal Statement & Application Review
Strengthen your dental school application with personalized guidance from a former University of Western Ontario Dental School Admissions Committee member and Canadian Dental Association DAT Committee member. This package helps prospective dental students develop a clear, compelling and authentic application that communicates their motivation, experiences and readiness for dentistry. Your package includes: Review of one personal statement or primary application essay. Assessment of structure, clarity, organization, content and overall effectiveness. Guidance on communicating your motivation for dentistry and relevant academic, clinical, volunteer and leadership experiences. Identification of strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to improve the application narrative. Written feedback on one submitted draft. One 60-minute individual video consultation to discuss recommendations and revisions. One 30-minute follow-up consultation to review progress and clarify remaining questions. What you'll receive: Written feedback on your personal statement or primary application essay. Personalized recommendations to strengthen your application narrative. Guidance on presenting your experiences and achievements effectively. A practical revision plan to help prepare your next draft. This package includes up to three hours of coaching and review work, including document review, written feedback and live consultations. It does not include rewriting the application on your behalf, reviewing multiple school-specific essays or unlimited revisions. All application content must remain authentic and represent the applicant's own experiences and work. Coaching does not guarantee admission.
What's included
My approach combines the perspective of a former dental school admissions committee member with personalized coaching and constructive feedback. Before our consultation, you will submit your current personal statement or primary application essay and a brief summary of your target programs and application goals. I will review the material and provide written feedback on content, structure, clarity and effectiveness. During our 60-minute video session, we will discuss recommendations and develop a revision strategy. A 30-minute follow-up session allows us to review your progress and address outstanding questions. My role is to help you communicate your own experiences and strengths effectively while maintaining authenticity throughout the application process.

I am a dentist, clinician-scientist, educator, and healthcare leader with more than 30 years of experience in clinical dentistry, dental education, research, mentoring, and healthcare innovation. I work with aspiring dental students to help them understand both the admissions process and the profession they are preparing to enter. My approach is practical, supportive, and individualized. I help students identify the experiences and qualities that genuinely differentiate them, communicate their story clearly and authentically, and approach applications and interviews with greater confidence and purpose. Having worked with future dentists from the pre-dental stage through dental school and into postgraduate clinical training, I can also provide perspective that extends beyond simply getting accepted. I want students to understand what makes a strong applicant, what dental school will demand of them, and how the choices they make now can contribute to a rewarding career in dentistry.
