During my final year of being a BYU student, I was responsible for the mentoring program as part of the Management Consulting Association. The mentoring program touched over 100 students eager to break into consulting. We provided students with both student mentors who had experience in consulting and resources to connect with their peers. As part of my role in this program, I gave dozens of practice cases and took dozens of coaching calls. I love talking to people about a subject that I am deeply interested in. I even became good friends with someone who was helping me with the mentorship program. He became very interested in working for Bain, so I helped coach and mentor him throughout the year, and now he is one of my incoming classmates in Bain Texas. This summer I interned for Bain & Co. I joined BYU's recruiting team and got an inside look into how the application process works. Additionally, during my internship, my eyes were opened to the why behind the tips and advice my mentors had given me as I was preparing for interviews. My experience mentoring students preparing for management consulting recruiting along with how recently I went through the process, uniquely sets me up to be an effective coach.

I have experience in strategy and product management roles at The Walt Disney Company, LinkedIn, Spotify, and startups ranging from pre-seed to Series B. I am currently on the enterprise jobs team at LinkedIn. I also have interviewed with Meta and Uber in strategy/product roles. I have had experience in data science and operations at Cisco and General Electric. I have received offers at management consultancies such as EY-Parthenon and AlixPartners and been in final rounds at McKinsey & Company, LEK, Bain & Company, and Boston Consulting Group. I have done over 200 case interviews and have coached all 3 of my candidates to MBB(2 to McKinsey, 1 to BCG). I am happy to administer mock interviews, provide resume assistance, and give highly tailored networking advice. As a former US Marine Infantry Officer, I know how difficult it can be to recruit for a completely unrelated field. While at Wharton (MBA) and Harvard (MPA) for graduate school I was able to pivot into management consulting with BCG New York City. During my second year at Wharton I was a Case Coach for the Consulting Club as well as Case Coach for the Veterans Club on campus. I coached over 50 students through the consulting recruiting process, provided feedback on resumes, and ran through mock case interviews. As an applicant, I did over 100 cases and as a coach, I have given over 100 mock cases and behavioral interviews. The majority of my students received offers from all three MBB firms.

I received an offer from McKinsey and Bain and went to final rounds with BCG. I am extremely familiar with the interview process for all firms - what they look for to determine whether or not to interview a candidate and how to succeed in both the case and behavioral portions of consulting interviews. I have coached a number of candidates before joining Leland and while at Leland that ended up landing offers at McKinsey, Bain, and/or BCG.

- I worked as part of the recruiting team and am very familiar with the process and what management consultants are looking for: 1) worked in the networking sessions and diversity sessions, 2) coffee chats, 3) resume and cover letter review (both as initial reader and grader and final approver to go to the next round), and 4) behavioral and case interviews. I was the diversity recruiting lead for Stanford. - I have worked with 3 clients extensively on their resume and cover letter, talking points for their behavioral interview, and case interview prep. They are now consultants at Bain, Deloitte, and FSG (top social impact firm alongside Dalberg and Bridgespan). Prior to the week of the application deadline, I'd never even heard of Bain. I came from a Political Science background and had spent my summers interning at refugee organizations and teaching English -- nowhere near Excel. I'd never even taken a business class, so I found the world of MBB recruiting daunting and totally foreign. That being said, I quickly learned that the kids who have been gunning for a management consulting job since freshmen year are not inherently better candidates. Regardless of your background, you can hold your own in a case interview, and I can help you get there! Having served as a Recruiting School Team Lead while at Bain, I have incredibly valuable insight into the internal mechanisms of MBB networking, the case interview itself, and which overarching strategy will serve you well.
