About me I've sat on the other side of the table: as an admissions interviewer for Kellogg School of Management, I've evaluated real candidates and know firsthand what separates an admit from a ding. I've coached 18+ clients through the MBA admissions process and into top-tier programs. Priority to LGBTQ+ and First Generation, and I'm open to working with clients inside and outside the U.S. Before coaching, I built a career that MBA programs love to see — Sales Strategy & Ops Associate at LinkedIn and Product Lead at GrubHub — so I can help you position your own story the way adcoms read it. I completed the "MMM" program at Kellogg, so I also hold an MS in Design Innovation from Northwestern and separately a BS from Tufts in Quantitative Economics and International Relations. What we can work on Strategy — school selection, application positioning, and how to frame your career narrative. The application — essay development and editing, resume translation (business resumes ≠ admissions resumes), and coaching your recommenders on what actually moves the needle. I’m Tyler, a Wharton MBA/Lauder MA grad who’s seen the MBA process as an applicant, an interviewer, and a coach. As a Wharton Admissions Fellow, I ran the team-based discussions and 1:1s for dozens of applicants, and saw up close how people come across in the room: what makes someone stand out and what gets lost in the shuffle. I also interviewed candidates for the Lauder dual degree program (MA in International Studies). I’ve advised folks across the grad school application timeline, from early exploration to applications to interviews. Applicants I’ve advised have been admitted to HBS, Stanford GSB, Wharton (including Lauder and HCM), Kellogg (including MMM), Columbia, and Booth, among others. During more than a decade at Deloitte Consulting, I served as an Advisor for the National Grad School Prep Council, the firm’s MBA prep program for 2,000+ consultants, and worked with admissions teams from top-20 programs and partner organizations like MLT, Forté, and Consortium. I listen closely, and I’m direct. I coach MBA candidates using a combination of firsthand insight from top business schools and a proven record of admissions outcomes. I am a Wharton MBA and Trailblazer Fellow, and I currently serve as President of the Wharton Graduate Association, representing over 2,000 MBA students and working closely with school leadership. I was also admitted to Harvard Business School, which gives me a direct understanding of how the most selective programs evaluate candidates and differentiate between strong profiles. I’ve coached 60+ MBA applicants, helping candidates gain admission to Top 10 programs, including Wharton, Stanford GSB, Kellogg, Columbia, Haas, Booth, NYU Stern, and Duke Fuqua. Prior to business school, I worked across product, operations, and finance roles at Amazon, Capital One, TD Bank, and high-growth startups, allowing me to coach candidates from nontraditional and international backgrounds with real-world context. I got into Wharton with a GMAT of 710 and TOEFL of 106, both well below the school's average. I also received scholarship and fellowship offers from NYU Stern and Michigan Ross. My test scores didn't define my application. What stood out was my unique story: diverse career pivots across functions and markets, a niche in entrepreneurship, design thinking, and EdTech, and a track record of doing things others thought impossible (like publishing two books before ever working in corporate). I leaned into what made me different, not what made me "the same best" as everyone else. That's the biggest mistake I see applicants make: trying to fit into what they think MBA programs want. But admissions committees aren't looking for the "best" candidate. They're looking for a diverse class of unique individuals. Your job isn't to be perfect. It's to be distinctly you. I pursued a dual degree, MBA and Master's in Education, at Penn because I'm genuinely passionate about empowering others. That same passion drives my coaching today.
