I’m an HBS MBA, former Deloitte consultant, and former Head of Talent Acquisition at a publicly traded biotech company. I work with people from nontraditional backgrounds who are applying to top MBA programs and need help telling a story that actually stands out. My sweet spot is candidates outside the usual MBB and finance tracks who know they’re strong but aren’t sure how to position themselves. My own path to business school wasn’t typical either. I studied sociology in undergrad and nearly pursued PhD programs before finding my way to HBS. I’ve reviewed thousands of resumes, been published twice, and helped many friends through admissions, including several who got into HBS. Joe has worked in admissions consulting for 18 years, with over 80% of his clients getting admitted to M7 and top 20 programs including HBS, Kellogg, Stanford, Fuqua, and Yale SOM (to name but a few). Just since 2022, Joe’s clients have received over $6 million in scholarship offers. He has worked with clients around the globe in industries ranging from the standard (consulting, marketing, accounting, nonprofit, etc.) to the nonstandard (tourism, video games, television, and academia). M7 Admissions Experience: I spent 11 years leading admissions for the Part-Time MBA Program at Kellogg School of Management. During that time, I recruited, interviewed, and evaluated MBA candidates, counseled prospective students and reapplicants, and helped build four incoming cohorts each year. My Kellogg experience gives me a perspective on MBA applications that goes beyond essays and application mechanics. I understand how an admissions professional looks at the whole candidate - from professional progression and accomplishments to career goals, communication, and program fit. I also understand the questions or concerns that may emerge when all the pieces are considered together. Part of my role as a coach is to ask the questions an applicant may not have considered, and help determine what will strengthen the overall candidacy. Today, applicants have access to more information and tools than ever before. I encourage clients to use good resources thoughtfully. I bring something complementary: years of experience evaluating real MBA candidates and the judgment that comes from seeing how individual choices contribute to the overall impression an applicant makes. My goal is not to create an application for you. It is to help you make informed choices and present the strongest, most authentic version of your candidacy.

My educational experience includes a Harvard BA, Wharton MBA, Penn MSEd, and Oxford MPP. I've been coaching college applicants on-and-off for the past decade. Beyond my own successful experience applying to MBA programs, I conducted admissions interviews for the Wharton MBA program, evaluating 60+ Wharton applicants as an employee of the admissions office. I'm experienced in supporting applicants through every stage of the MBA application process -- from school selection to application to interview to waitlist strategies.

As a current Harvard Business School student admitted through the 2+2 Deferred Enrollment Program, I have firsthand experience navigating both the deferred and traditional MBA admissions processes.
