About Donelle

My career has been shaped by a consistent interest in education, talent development, and helping people realize their potential. For 11 years, I served as Director of Admissions for the Part-Time MBA Program at the Kellogg School of Management. I led the program's recruitment and admissions strategy and the team responsible for building each incoming class. Just as important, I worked directly with applicants: interviewing candidates, evaluating applications, counseling prospective students, and working with applicants who were reapplying. These experience gave me an inside perspective on what makes a strong applicant stand out and what makes an application memorable. My work at Kellogg was also more than admissions. I had the opportunity to work with talented professionals at important points in their careers and to see firsthand how an MBA can help someone grow as a leader, change direction professionally, or accelerate toward a long-term goal. That focus on developing people has continued throughout my career. As an assistant dean, I developed academic and internship programs, managed a portfolio of graduate and undergraduate program, advised learners, and built partnerships designed to support student and professional success. Today, I work in enterprise training policy and strategy in the federal government. Across these different roles, the common thread has been developing talent and working with people to help them develop and take the next step.

Why do I coach?

Given my work across the talent development continuum, as an MBA coach I enjoy getting to know an applicant as an individual and helping that person identify what is distinctive about their experiences, accomplishments, and aspirations. Having spent years on the admissions side of the table, I can bring that perspective to the process while making sure the application remains authentically yours. For me, MBA coaching combines two things I've valued throughout my career: helping people realize their goals and helping people communicate the experiences and potential that make them unique.
