I began my venture capital career at Sequoia Capital, where I learned directly from some of the industry’s best—gaining firsthand insight into how top firms identify and support exceptional founders. I went on to receive additional training through a selective venture scout program affiliated with Accel, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Sequoia, which sharpened my ability to assess early-stage opportunities and develop a strong investment thesis. Today, I bring that experience into my work as an angel investor, backing founders who are building with intention and ambition. As the first transgender woman to work in the venture capital industry, I also understand what it takes to navigate nontraditional paths and succeed in competitive, high-barrier spaces. Natalie is a VC investor who built her career at Tier 1 firms through networking, not recruiters. As a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, she invested across all stages. Previously, she worked at Y Combinator as their first junior investor and was Head of Binance Ventures. Now, she advises and invests independently through Ringside Ventures. Earlier in her career, Natalie worked in tech M&A at Qatalyst Partners, admissions at Y Combinator, and growth equity at Accel-KKR.

I've worked across four stages of the venture ecosystem: as an investor, as a founder who raised from VCs, as a banker who helps venture-backed companies structure their finances, and as an advisor to early-stage teams. Prior to attending HBS I spent two years as an Investment Associate at the largest dedicated foodtech / agtech venture capital fund where I managed 30+ investments and advised 16 portfolio companies. I landed this role over dozens of finance applicants having no prior finance work experience and having gone to a state school. The first time I looked at a balance sheet? After I started at a VC firm. To be honest? I had no idea what the difference between revenue and profit as I started to learn about VC. I didn't study finance or econ in undergrad, I didn't come from a tech or engineering background. So, how did I break in to VC? I demonstrated a willingness to learn and the grit to keep pushing on despite receiving pushback.
