I began my venture capital career at Sequoia Capital, where I learned directly from some of the industry’s best—gaining firsthand insight into how top firms identify and support exceptional founders. I went on to receive additional training through a selective venture scout program affiliated with Accel, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Sequoia, which sharpened my ability to assess early-stage opportunities and develop a strong investment thesis. Today, I bring that experience into my work as an angel investor, backing founders who are building with intention and ambition. As the first transgender woman to work in the venture capital industry, I also understand what it takes to navigate nontraditional paths and succeed in competitive, high-barrier spaces. I've overseen recruiting processes in my current and previous roles, with a particular focus on undergrads, MBAs, and lateral hires. For the past 10 years, I've invested in high-growth technology companies at Felicis Ventures, where I was a General Partner. At Felicis, I invested more than $400 million into 40+ companies, served on 20+ boards, and helped founders navigate 100+ financings. Those companies subsequently raised ~$5 billion of follow-on capital. Felicis is an early-stage venture capital firm that has invested in iconic companies like Shopify, Canva, Crusoe, Notion, Adyen, Mercor, Supabase, Verkada, and many others.

With a robust background in both engineering and policy from MIT, I bring a unique perspective to the venture capital landscape. Currently, I am a Senior Principal at Montauk Capital, where I leverage my extensive experience from McKinsey & Company and Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners to guide startups towards sustainable growth and innovation. My journey has equipped me with the skills to analyze and support ventures in diverse sectors, including technology and infrastructure. I didn’t start in venture capital. I intentionally moved into startup CFO and operator roles to understand how companies are built and financed from the inside. That path eventually led me to launch and manage my own fund, where I’ve raised capital and invested across early and growth stages. Today, I manage an investment fund investing across public and private markets, and have sat on both sides of the table i.e., raising money as an operator and deploying it as an investor. I’ve co-invested alongside firms like a16z and Sequoia and reviewed thousands of opportunities across sectors. If you’re trying to break into VC or raise capital, I focus on positioning. Breaking in isn’t about sending more cold emails. Fundraising isn’t about having a deck. It’s about understanding how investors think and communicating your edge clearly. I don’t coach full-time. I do this alongside managing capital because I enjoy working with a small number of serious people and sharing what I’ve learned from actually being in the seat.

I spent the last few years exploring how to pivot into VC particularly since the market took a turn. Ultimately, I was able to get an offer from my top choice dream fund. As an angel investor in Latin America, I bring a unique blend of experiences that position me to support early-stage startups. Having transitioned from a career in professional sports to tech, I understand the challenges of navigating change and seizing new opportunities. My background in building businesses and content strategies across Latin America gives me a deep understanding of the region's unique market dynamics. Prior to attending HBS I spent two years as an Investment Associate at the largest dedicated foodtech / agtech venture capital fund where I managed 30+ investments and advised 16 portfolio companies. I landed this role over dozens of finance applicants having no prior finance work experience and having gone to a state school.
