I have advised hundreds and hundreds of law school applicants over an almost twenty year period. I am an expert in law school admissions and have also published a book and a nationwide column about it. Many applicants that I have advised have been admitted to their top choice of law schools. Some of my former students have also received up to full scholarships to law school. I am also an expert on the subject of legal careers, as well as alternative legal careers. In addition I have taught several courses for students planning to apply to law school. I am a graduate of Brown University and Boston College Law School.

Storytelling has been a throughline of my personal and academic pursuits. After three years as a journalist at HuffPost, I'm now a J.D. Candidate at Columbia Law School — and hope to serve as a resource for those looking to strengthen their writing skills. I attended undergrad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, a recipient of the nation's first full-ride merit scholarship at the first public university in the U.S. Navigating several rigorous application and interview processes, I also gained admission into Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, the University of Michigan and other institutions. At Carolina, I earned my degree in Media & Journalism and a minor in Hispanic Studies, honing my communication skills and freelancing professionally as a college junior. In addition to interning at various outlets such as Radiolab, the TODAY Show, and the Los Angeles Times, I have written for Teen Vogue, Allure, NBC, ESSENCE, and many other publications. Now, I aim to leverage my experiences to explore law at the intersection of media and entertainment. During my legal career, I earned admission to a top-five law school, clerked for a future Supreme Court Justice, worked as Special Counsel for a U.S. Senator, and even helped litigate in the Supreme Court on behalf of the President. As a first generation professional, I understand how stressful navigating the law school admissions process can be for applicants. After a post-graduation public interest fellowship and some time in big law, I spent more than a decade working at two T14 law schools—the University of Chicago and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. My time working in legal education in both recruiting and student affairs means I am well-versed in how best to navigate the admissions process and select and succeed in the law school that is right for you. I am particularly passionate about working with those first generation professionals who are navigating the admissions process and with those from backgrounds historically excluded from the legal profession.

During my time at UCLA School of Law, I have earned several honors, including the UCLA Law Faculty Scholarship, the Adam Z. Rice Memorial Scholarship, the Erika J. Glazer Scholarship, the Greenberg Glusker Book Scholarship, the Kingdom Day Parade Scholarship, and the Langston Bar Association Scholarship (awarded twice). I was also selected for the 2024 Foundation for Advocacy, Inclusion & Resources (FAIR) Employee Justice Summer Clerkship and the 2024 Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Scholarship. My activities reflect my leadership and dedication to the legal community. I have served as a Student Liaison for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Barristers/Young Attorneys, and held various leadership roles in the Black Law Students Association, including 1L Representative and Co-Chair. I have also been involved in the Critical Race Studies Specialization as an Erika Glazer Scholar, worked with the Labor and Economic Justice Clinic, and served as the Langston Bar Association’s Student Liaison and Law Student Outreach Committee Chair. As a member of the National Black Law Journal, I have contributed as both Outreach Editor and Chief Managing Editor. Additionally, I served as the 1L President of the Student Bar Association (SBA) and later as SBA Diversity Officer. My involvement extends to mentoring in the UCLA Law Fellows Program, serving as a Staff Member and Chief Diversity Editor on the UCLA Law Review, and working as a Tour Guide and Student Ambassador for the law school. I also participated in the Workers’ Rights Clinic and the UCLA Trial Team, where we were regional champions in the BLSA Constance Baker Motley Trial Competition. Furthermore, I have been active in the Entertainment Law Association as Events Chair and the Fashion and Beauty Law Association as Secretary of Communications.
