Stop Sounding Generic: Write a Standout Law School Personal Statement
About the event
Dylan Moses moved from a policy role at Google to Harvard Law School, then became an associate at Jenner & Block. He has read personal statements that get rejected for sounding like everyone else's, and has coached applicants on what actually changes an admissions reader's mind. This workshop covers how to find the detail in your own story worth building a statement around, instead of defaulting to a resume written in paragraph form. Dylan will cover a structure that holds up under a strict word count, how to cut the opening line every reader has already seen a hundred times, and where specificity matters most in a law school personal statement. Bring a rough draft or even just a list of possible topics, and expect direct, practical feedback you can use the same day.
