I went on to receive additional training through a selective venture scout program affiliated with Accel, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Sequoia, which sharpened my ability to assess early-stage opportunities and develop a strong investment thesis. Today, I bring that experience into my work as an angel investor, backing founders who are building with intention and ambition. As the first transgender woman to work in the venture capital industry, I also understand what it takes to navigate nontraditional paths and succeed in competitive, high-barrier spaces. I bring over 8 years of comprehensive venture capital, operations, and investment experience across multiple stages and sectors. During my MBA, I endeavored to land an early-stage climate tech VC internship abroad. I hoped to explore both the venture capital industry, and a foreign market (Germany/EU) over the span of a single summer, and recruited aggressively in pursuit of that goal. Through the journey I learned a lot about VC recruiting (through guidance from mentors, advice from friends, and trial and error), and landed a fantastic internship at Cherry Ventures in Berlin.
