About Nathan
Hello! My name is Nathan and I am originally from Somers, Connecticut. After graduating from high school, I relocated with my family to Stella, North Carolina. I then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. During my time at UNC, I pursued a rigorous academic curriculum while also engaging in pre-clinical research focused on PTSD treatments, clinical work including being a medical scribe and pharmacy technician, and community service, experiences that deepened my interest in the life sciences and solidified my commitment to a career in medicine. After graduation, I strengthened my foundation in clinical care through hands-on roles in healthcare. I worked as a medical assistant in podiatry, where I gained direct experience in outpatient procedures and patient management. I also worked in the emergency department as a medical scribe, immersing myself in the fast-paced environment of acute care and learning from a broad spectrum of clinical cases. During my final year in the emergency room before medical school, I was the chief medical scribe. Here, I gained leadership experience by conducting application reviews, interviewing potential candidates, and scheduling 20+ employees. These roles strengthened my clinical knowledge, refined my communication skills, and confirmed my decision to pursue medicine. I am now a medical student at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine planning to pursue a career in pediatric emergency medicine.
