My professional journey began at the University of Utah, where I earned a degree in Finance. After graduation, I joined a VC/Growth firm in Salt Lake City, focusing on sourcing enterprise software investments, sharpening my understanding of how software companies work. Seeking to broaden my financial underwriting skills, I relocated to San Francisco, where I completed a traditional investment banking program as an analyst and associate, advising semiconductor and software companies on mergers and acquisitions, as well as capital raises. With a deep passion for the software sector, I then recruited exclusively for enterprise software-focused VC/Growth roles. I currently help lead cloud infrastructure investing for a VC fund with $4.5B+ in AUM, with our latest fund being $1.4B in size (Fund V). Leveraging my diverse experiences and industry knowledge, I am dedicated to identifying high-potential investments in enterprise software and cloud infrastructure. I currently sit on 3 boards as an observer, and over the past two years have personally sourced & fully executed 3 transactions.
Why do I coach?
As a coach, my motivation stems from my personal journey into the world of Wall Street and Venture Capital (VC) / Growth Equity. Despite attending a "non-target" university with limited alumni resources, I found my way through a blend of grit, persistence, and focus. I've learned firsthand that the hustle, resilience, and unwavering focus often trump pure intellectual horsepower and talent. This journey made me value the importance of having a guiding mentor in the industry, and I was fortunate enough to have one in VC who provided clear directions on navigating interviews. They imparted lessons and techniques that were invaluable to my success. My aim is now to pay that guidance forward, especially to those aspiring to break into VC / Growth Equity, with an emphasis on those looking to invest in enterprise software companies. I want to equip you with the precise knowledge and preparedness needed for such rigorous interview processes, offering the mentorship I found essential in my own path.
