About
I went from Baruch College—with no built-in Wall Street network—to J.P. Morgan M&A and, eventually, private equity. It wasn’t a straight path, but I learned how to build one. I now work in lower-middle-market private equity, after beginning my career at Citi and spending about 3.5 years in J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York. My path into finance wasn’t traditional and it wasn’t always straightforward. I worked throughout college, arranged my classes to make room for internships (7+ total internships), and built experience one opportunity at a time. That path took me from Baruch College to Citi Cap Markets, then to J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York, where I spent about 3.5 years, and eventually to lower-middle-market private equity. I’ve navigated undergraduate internships, summer analyst and full-time recruiting, lateral investment banking recruiting, and private equity recruiting. At J.P. Morgan, I also participated extensively in internship, full-time, and placement recruiting, so I’ve seen the process from the interviewer’s side. I know how discouraging it can feel when networking emails go unanswered, an interview process stalls, or the next opportunity seems out of reach. I’ve been there and I eventually made it into roles that once felt far away when I was starting out at Baruch. I’m especially interested in helping students from non-target schools and unconventional backgrounds make their own path into finance. Whether you’re preparing for interviews, figuring out how to network, or deciding how to position your experience, I’ll offer candid feedback and a practical plan tailored to your situation. I won’t promise shortcuts or guaranteed outcomes. I will be open about what worked for me, help you focus your effort where it matters, and support you as you work toward your next opportunity. If you’re figuring out your next move and could use candid advice or a thoughtful sounding board, let’s talk!

Andy’s Career Coaching Qualifications
Experience level: Associate
I bring experience from both sides of the career process: I’ve navigated several recruiting paths myself and have also helped evaluate candidates as an interviewer. After attending Baruch College and working throughout school, I built my career through Citi, J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York, and lower-middle-market private equity. I’ve personally gone through internship, full-time, lateral investment banking, and private equity recruiting. At J.P. Morgan, I also participated in internship, full-time, and placement recruiting. That experience helps me offer practical, candid guidance on career decisions, positioning your background, networking, and preparing for opportunities. I’m especially committed to supporting people from non-target schools and unconventional backgrounds. I won’t promise shortcuts or guaranteed outcomes, but I will help you think through your options, identify where to focus, and build a realistic plan for your next move!

Why do I coach?
Finance recruiting can feel incredibly confusing when you don't come from a school or family where everyone already knows how the process works. I remember that feeling very well. When I was at Baruch, there wasn't one person who handed me a roadmap and told me exactly which internships to pursue, who to network with, how to tell my story or what I needed to do to eventually reach investment banking. I benefited from people who were willing to take a coffee chat, answer a question or give me candid advice along the way, but a lot of it was also trial and error. I sent the networking emails. I prepared for interviews that went nowhere. I questioned whether I was competitive enough for certain opportunities. I had to figure out how to turn experiences that weren't traditional investment banking internships into a story that made sense. And I had to go through recruiting multiple times — during college, for full-time roles, lateraling into investment banking and eventually recruiting for private equity. Over the years, students and recent graduates started reaching out to me for coffee chats and recruiting advice, particularly people from non-target schools. I kept taking those calls because I genuinely enjoyed them. I know how much a candid 30-minute conversation with the right person can help when you're overwhelmed by conflicting advice and don't know what you should actually be focusing on. That's really why I'm coaching. I'm not interested in selling someone a magic formula for breaking into Wall Street. There isn't one. I also won't promise interviews, offers or shortcuts. What I can do is be an open book about my own experience, listen to where you are today, and give you the type of direct and practical feedback I would have wanted when I was in your position. Sometimes that means completely reworking a resume. Sometimes it's fixing your networking approach or interview story. And sometimes it's simply telling you that you're doing more right than you think and helping you figure out the next two or three moves. If you're coming from a non-target or unconventional background and feel like the odds are stacked against you, that's exactly the type of candidate I most enjoy working with. I've been there, and I'd like to make the path a little less confusing for the next person.

Education

Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance
2016 - 2020
Graduated with a 3.9 GPA while interning throughout much of my undergraduate experience. My interest in finance began through Baruch's student clubs and organizations, which helped introduce me to investment banking and the broader financial services industry. I intentionally structured my class schedule to allow me to intern during the academic year and gain hands-on experience alongside my coursework.
