Find Your Next Move: Career Clarity & Strategy
I went from Baruch College—with no built-in Wall Street network—to J.P. Morgan M&A and, eventually, private equity. It wasn’t a straight path, but I learned how to build one. I now work in lower-middle-market private equity, after beginning my career at Citi and spending about 3.5 years in J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York. My path into finance wasn’t traditional and it wasn’t always straightforward. I worked throughout college, arranged my classes to make room for internships (7+ total internships), and built experience one opportunity at a time. That path took me from Baruch College to Citi Cap Markets, then to J.P. Morgan’s M&A group in New York, where I spent about 3.5 years, and eventually to lower-middle-market private equity. I’ve navigated undergraduate internships, summer analyst and full-time recruiting, lateral investment banking recruiting, and private equity recruiting. At J.P. Morgan, I also participated extensively in internship, full-time, and placement recruiting, so I’ve seen the process from the interviewer’s side. I know how discouraging it can feel when networking emails go unanswered, an interview process stalls, or the next opportunity seems out of reach. I’ve been there and I eventually made it into roles that once felt far away when I was starting out at Baruch. I’m especially interested in helping students from non-target schools and unconventional backgrounds make their own path into finance. Whether you’re preparing for interviews, figuring out how to network, or deciding how to position your experience, I’ll offer candid feedback and a practical plan tailored to your situation. I won’t promise shortcuts or guaranteed outcomes. I will be open about what worked for me, help you focus your effort where it matters, and support you as you work toward your next opportunity. If you’re figuring out your next move and could use candid advice or a thoughtful sounding board, let’s talk!
