Work with Shubhangi
About
I'm an award-winning filmmaker, producer, and creative strategist with nearly a decade of experience across entertainment, advertising, and media. I've worked with companies including A24, Condé Nast Entertainment, Verizon Media, and TubeScience, and have built my career at the intersection of creative storytelling and business strategy. I'm also the director and producer of *Hoop Like This*, an independent feature documentary that has screened at festivals across North America. My work has earned recognition through the Women in Film's Creative Documentary Producing Fellowship, Netflix DART, and The Salon Mentorship Program. I help people navigate two things I'm deeply familiar with: breaking into competitive creative industries and getting ambitious creative projects off the ground. For aspiring and working creatives, I can help with: - Breaking into entertainment, advertising, and media - Resume, LinkedIn, and portfolio reviews - Interview preparation and creative assignments - Career transitions, networking, and personal branding - Building a sustainable career across creative industries For emerging filmmakers, I can help with: - Documentary and narrative project development - Pitch decks, treatments, and project positioning - Fundraising, grants, fellowships, and fiscal sponsorship - Production planning, budgeting, and producing strategy - Film festival submissions, audience development, and distribution planning What working with me looks like: I don't believe in one-size-fits-all career advice or vague creative feedback. My approach is collaborative, candid, and highly actionable. We'll start by understanding your goals, identifying what's holding you back, and developing a realistic strategy to move forward. Whether we're refining your portfolio, strengthening a pitch deck, preparing for an interview, or mapping out your first film, my goal is for you to leave every session with greater clarity, tangible next steps, and the confidence to execute them.

Why do I coach?
I've spent much of my career figuring things out the hard way. I didn't follow a traditional path into entertainment. I've navigated different industries, built relationships from scratch, balanced creative ambitions with full-time jobs, and learned how to create opportunities when there wasn't an obvious path forward. One of the biggest things I've learned is that talent and hard work aren't always enough. So much of building a successful creative career comes down to access, information, relationships, and knowing how to advocate for yourself. And unfortunately, those things aren't always taught or readily available. That's a big part of why I love mentorship. I believe that the knowledge we gain through experience shouldn't be gatekept, especially in industries that can already feel difficult to break into. I want to help people avoid unnecessary trial and error, recognize the value of their own experiences, and approach their careers and creative projects with more clarity and intention. Whether you're trying to get your foot in the door or take a big creative leap, I want to be the kind of resource I wish I'd had earlier in my career: someone who will be generous with their knowledge, honest about the challenges, and genuinely invested in helping you move forward.
