SInce I was cross-offered between BCG and McKinsey I spent an immense amount of time studying the two firms. At McKinsey I continued to do this as I focused on helping cross-offerees understand the differences among MBB. Even before starting at McKinsey, I was helping peers break into MBB by being a paid case interviewer at Wharton (where I completed my JD/MBA degree from The Wharton School and University of Pennsylvania Law School). I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my coaching. At McKinsey, I specialized in growth and efficiency studies and was trained as an interviewer, providing me with deep insights into the consulting recruitment process. Over the years, I've successfully coached dozens of MBB prospects, helping them navigate the complexities of case interviews to secure positions at top consulting firms. I particularly enjoy spending serious time explaining the differences between the firms (based off my own dilligence when cross-offered as well as from my current ex-MBB colleagues). My recent McKinsey alumunus status perfectly positions me to provide relevant insights on how to master the consulting case interview, objectively decide between MBB firms, and optimize your MBB experience (particularly at McKinsey). As a former McKinsey Senior Business Analyst, I was involved with recruiting efforts on both a campus and office level. Prior to the week of the application deadline, I'd never even heard of Bain. I came from a Political Science background and had spent my summers interning at refugee organizations and teaching English -- nowhere near Excel. I'd never even taken a business class, so I found the world of MBB recruiting daunting and totally foreign. That being said, I quickly learned that the kids who have been gunning for a management consulting job since freshmen year are not inherently better candidates. Shahrukh is a seasoned McKinsey consultant where he spent a decade in multiple client-facing roles across offices in North America, Middle East and South Asia. Shahrukh also holds a MBA from Harvard Business School where he also led the student consulting club. I spent 3 years at McKinsey & Company, where I worked on strategy and operating model transformations in the financial services industry.
