I'm the founder and CEO of Learning Journey AI, where I've helped 100+ professionals develop practical, hands-on AI skills through workshops, training programs, and community events. I organize the DC AI Dinner Series and regularly work with professionals across industries to make AI approachable and immediately useful. My background spans the full arc from technical research to government policy. I hold a PhD in Materials Science from Northwestern, where I applied machine learning to materials discovery with research cited over 800 times. I've since spent a decade at the intersection of AI and government, including authoring AI test and evaluation guidance for the DoD Chief Digital and AI Office at IDA, and developing program evaluation strategy for NSF's $540M AI Institutes portfolio as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow.

Most AI coaches teach concepts. I teach you how to actually use it. There's a big difference between understanding how AI works and knowing how to apply it to a real problem, in a real job, under real constraints. I've spent years on the practitioner side, building production AI systems, navigating the messy parts nobody puts in tutorials, and figuring out what actually sticks when you're trying to get people to change how they work. That hands-on experience is what shapes how I coach. I love that no two learners are the same. Some people want the technical deep dive. Others need someone to cut through the noise and show them what matters for their specific situation. I've worked with everyone from seasoned engineers to executives who'd never written a line of code, and the most rewarding part is meeting someone exactly where they are and watching things start to click. What I'm particularly good at is helping people move from "I kind of get it" to "I know exactly what to do next." I bring over 20 years of experience across AI, data analytics, cloud platforms, business intelligence, and enterprise architecture, with leadership roles across FedEx, Prudential, AXA, Great Eastern, AIA, CSC, and HSBC. In my recent role leading AI, ML product strategy and platform architecture for FedEx AMEA, I helped drive large-scale AI transformation, including a $30M+ revenue-impact cargo optimization initiative, GenAI proof-of-concepts for conversational BI, air network optimization, and cloud analytics modernization. I have also led AI and analytics programs in insurance and financial services, including customer intelligence platforms, deep learning–based compliance analytics, self-service BI ecosystems, and executive KPI governance. I've led the AI transformation of a 200-person data and analytics organization from the front. I ran the enterprise strategy and rollout of the AI coding and productivity tools the team uses (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Atlassian Rovo), built a persona-based "what to use when" framework so adoption actually stuck, and developed the core agents and MCP setups people now work in. I've seen work that used to take 40 to 80 hours land in 1 to 2.
