Stock Pitch Pack: 2 Longs + 1 Short, Grilled Like the Real Interview
Every fund will ask you for two longs and one short, and every PM will ask why the market hasn't priced your view in. This pack gets all three pitches interview-ready. How it runs: - 30 minutes on strategy: which funds and roles you are targeting, the academy programmes, the timeline, and which three names to pitch. Less crowded names are easier to defend than the stocks the PM already covers. - Three pitches, about 45 minutes each, run as the real interview. You present; I interrupt, challenge the numbers and ask what would make you wrong. - I review your one-pagers offline before each pitch, and we finish with a re-pitch of the weakest one. What I push on: the business in two sentences, your variant view, two or three quantifiable catalysts, the metrics that actually move the stock, what you would monitor to know you are right or wrong, and how you lose. Multi-strat pitches run 6 to 12 months; long-only pitches make a longer structural case. I worked at Citadel as a long/short equities investor, and this is how I prepared my own pitches.
