Break Into L/S Equities: End-to-End with an Ex-Citadel L/S Investor
The full recruiting process for long/short equities at multi-strats, single managers and long-onlys, from target list to final round. What we cover: - Strategy: target funds and roles, academy programmes (Citadel CAP, Point72 Academy, Balyasny), geography and timeline. Multi-strats open early and close fast; long-onlys interview mostly in December and January. - Resume and story: action-led bullets, a clear answer to why public markets, and a fund tracker you build with AI so you apply before portals close. - Pitches: two longs and one short, each pitched and grilled twice, as in the real interview. - Model: a simple hedge fund model for your lead pitch, built to update fast before earnings, reviewed offline. - Interviews: how the rounds run (tests, paper valuation, rapid-fire pitches, process and risk management), and the behavioral answers on your investment process and how you manage risk. I worked at Citadel as a long/short equities investor and went through the same process. Most clients start with one session a week and step up when interviews arrive.
What's included
Ten hours in total: about eight hours of live video sessions and about two hours of offline review (pitches, model, resume). Usually one session a week, more as interviews approach. Send material at least 48 hours before each session.
