Work with Octavia
About
I help students and early-career professionals turn their experience into a clear, confident resume. Whether you’re applying for internships, fellowships, or a first full-time role, or pivoting into a new field, I’ll help you show your impact, not just list your duties. I’m especially well placed to help with sustainability, ESG, climate, and adjacent roles. Working with me is collaborative and low-pressure. I give honest, specific feedback, explain the “why” behind every suggestion, and keep things encouraging. You’ll leave with a stronger resume and the know-how to keep improving it on your own.
Octavia’s Career Coaching Qualifications
Experience level: Analyst
Hello, and welcome to my profile! I have a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a career spanning sustainability consulting, ESG reporting, and corporate social responsibility. Most recently, I worked in Nasdaq’s Sustainability & Climate Advisory, helping companies navigate complex sustainability challenges; at Bank of the West, I grew from an ESG Analyst Associate role to an Analyst role. Alongside my professional work, I’ve supported more than 100 people with resumes, job-search strategy, and graduate-school planning through Community Office Hours, and have coached five individuals one-on-one toward their career goals. I offer personalized, practical guidance to help you clarify your direction, tell your story, and take your next steps with confidence. Let’s work together to unlock your potential.

Why do I coach?
Resumes are often the first place students and early-career professionals underestimate themselves. Many of the people I talk with have done meaningful work in their coursework, research, jobs, and communities, but they don’t know how to say so. I coach because I love the moment when someone sees their own experience clearly and realizes they’re more qualified than they thought. What drew me to coaching was Community Office Hours, which I began in 2021. What started as informal conversations about careers and networking became something I look forward to every week, and through my mentoring work, I saw how much honest feedback and an encouraging voice can change someone’s confidence and direction. I also care about making good career guidance accessible, since not everyone has a network to call on or the budget for career coaching, so I try to make my student offerings as affordable as possible and my approach practical and judgment-free.
Work Experience

Senior Consultant
Nasdaq
January 2023 - February 2026
Interviewer
Through Nasdaq’s Sustainability & Climate Advisory, I partnered with companies to turn evolving ESG and climate expectations into practical reporting and governance programs. I managed consulting engagements from work planning and stakeholder coordination through review and delivery, collaborating with client teams and internal analysts across concurrent projects. I facilitated project management for 10 sustainability reports and 20+ materiality assessments, including double materiality assessments, as well as climate risk and greenhouse gas disclosure projects. I coordinated timelines, deliverables, stakeholder input, and quality review while helping clients strengthen ESG data governance, reporting processes, and disclosure readiness across frameworks including GRI, ISSB/SASB, TCFD/IFRS S2, and CSRD/ESRS. I also contributed to the broader sustainability dialogue through speaking engagements at academic institutions and industry events.

Corporate Social Responsibility Analyst
Bank of the West
March 2022 - January 2023
(Now BMO US) In conjunction with the credit risk function, I assessed counterparty ESG risk exposures across environmentally and socially sensitive sectors including agriculture, energy, mining, and defense, contributing to due diligence, lending decisions, and regulatory alignment. I developed and delivered internal training for relationship managers on ESG sector policies and risk questionnaire protocols, strengthening consistency in risk assessment practices across the lending portfolio.

Corporate Social Responsibility Analyst Associate II
Bank of the West
January 2020 - February 2022
(Now BMO US) I assessed ESG reputational and compliance risk for companies in high-risk industries seeking commercial loans, evaluating environmental, social, and governance exposures as part of the credit risk due diligence process to inform lending decisions and support regulatory alignment. I managed and streamlined internal ESG risk analysis workflows through process documentation, version control, and governance of forms, publications, and SharePoint resources. I also strengthened internal risk literacy by circulating ESG policies, emerging regulatory developments, market-relevant insights, and stakeholder briefings across business lines.
