I have a wealth of experience in the graduate management education sector and a global industry network. I have worked in higher education for almost 10 years. Most recently I was Director of Admissions at Imperial College Business School, and prior to that I was Head of MBA Recruitment and Admissions at Cambridge Judge Business School. I’ve read countless applications, interviewed hundreds of candidates and chaired many Admissions Committee meetings. Coming from a non-traditional background of public policy, I know how daunting it can be to apply to MBA programs. Prior to Wharton, I spent 5 years at the American Financial Services Association, where I advised consumer lending companies on state legislative and regulatory issues. I am also a disability inclusion advocate, serving on the board of a nonprofit called Full Spectrum Agency for Autistic adults. I am also the President of Wharton's Disability Empowerment & Action League. Before becoming a Leland coach, I have coached prospective students, helping them navigate the competitive MBA admissions process. I am a member of the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants (AIGAC), the most elite organization for admissions consultants. It has fewer than 200 members worldwide. I was admitted based on my track record over the years of helping clients obtain admissions to Harvard, Stanford, MIT, UPenn, Duke, Columbia, among other elite schools.

As a graduate of the Full-Time MBA program at the Johnson School at Cornell combined with 5+ years of experience coaching full-time MBA students on career goals and the recruiting processes, my approach to MBA admissions is a little different. Many enter with the goal "I want to get into school X." I prefer to zoom out and ask two simple questions: - What are your short-term MBA career goals? - What type of experience do you want for the duration of the two-year program? Answering these questions honestly will help you better develop a target school list and be able to better articulate in your essays and in the admissions interview why an MBA makes sense for you, ,why that school is the best fit, and what your short and long term career goals are post MBA. There's a lot more to getting a Full-Time MBA than going to the highest ranked school you can get into, because those rankings don't take into account your personal goals and preferences.
