Top 10 MBA Specialist. Caring, Honest, Supportive & Results Oriented!

If you're looking for "nice", look elsewhere. With me, you'll get the hard truth. About your chances, about ways to improve those chances and, above all, the changes we need to make in order to maximize your chances at the top schools. My edits will be ruthless. I will insist you dive deeper and deeper into the narrative until we get it right. And I know "right". With over 15 years of working with Top 20 MBA applicants, I am an expert in identifying the areas where everyone needs help: telling their story in way that makes them stand out. When you're up against other Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Yale applicants, there is more to personal statements and supplemental essays than merely being outstanding. Your story has to stop the jaded admissions folks in their tracks and make them say, 'Wow! That's who we're looking for!" That's where I come in. I take a deep dive into getting to you know, your story, what makes you tick and what motivates you. With the help of our curated conversations, custom guides and 90-minute brainstorming sessions, I will help you squeeze out every last ounce of your potential and make it sing on the page. Working in this way is painstaking and time consuming, but my results speak for themselves. Each year, I get 90+% of my clients into at least one of their top 3 dream schools. This also means that I cannot take on many clients (usually 25-28 per application cycle). With so much personal attention given to each applicant and their multiple applications, it is impossible for me to maintain my high level of success if I take on more than 25-28 clients per year. This means three things: 1.) My schedule fills up quick 2.) I am by no means the cheapest consultant out there (in fact, I am on the more pricey side) 3.) The experience--and results--you have with me (yes, me, Avi...not some junior consultant) will be second to none. It's also worth noting that roughly half of my clients each year are those that had disappointing experiences working with other consultants. The most common complaint I hear from these disgruntled applicants is that they didn't feel like the consultant took a vested interest in their success, limiting their face to face time while discouraging them them from applying to top-tier schools. This way, the consultant looks like a big hero when you get admitted to schools you would have likely got admitted to without their "help". My specialty is M7 MBA programs and Top 20 Business Schools. In both cases, my job is to get you interviews at, and admitted to, schools that in some cases you have no business'' getting accepted to, and in other cases getting you scholarship money for your No. 1 school. Otherwise, what's the point, right? If I can't raise the stakes for you, what am I getting paid for? Background: Born and raised in New York City, I take a non-nonsense approach to consulting. We are going to work together for months, sometimes a full year, together, so I like to set the tone for an honest, direct style of communication that leads to winning applications, not inflated egos. To do this successfully, I have to part coach, part mentor, part drill sergeant and part therapist. But mostly your fearless leader in navigating the tricky terrain of college apps. I will hound you for draft deadlines, insist on better revisions and deeper reflection even when you feel it's "good enough". And I will keep you on a structured schedule so you don't feel overwhelmed. Lastly, in certain cases I won't be "nice". If I feel you're capable of better, I'll let you know. If something could work better in an application, I will point it out. I will not spare your feelings, we're here to win this admissions game. I have coached this game for going on 20 years. I am a former Admissions reader at Berkeley and writer for the LA Times. I have a receding hairline and a mean left hook (former boxer). I value honesty over flattery and ambition over modesty. Let's make this happen. Together. .

    300+ M7 Admits | Wharton MBA & Adcom Fellow | 15 YOE Expert Coach | US/Intl

I’m a Wharton MBA, former Wharton Admissions Fellow, and Founder of The Ivy Journey (theivyjourney.com/mba), where I’ve spent 15+ years helping ambitious applicants earn admission to top MBA programs. My clients have earned admits to HBS, Stanford GSB, Wharton, MIT Sloan, Columbia, Kellogg, Booth, Haas, Yale SOM, LBS, INSEAD, and other top US, UK & EU programs. I’m especially strong at helping applicants turn complex, nonlinear, or highly competitive backgrounds into clear, differentiated MBA stories. I’ve worked with candidates from consulting, banking/finance, tech, product, healthcare, entrepreneurship, family business, nonprofit, government, and international backgrounds, including many applicants navigating U.S. MBA admissions from Asian, European, and other global markets. My edge is the combination of admissions judgment and career strategy. As a former Wharton admissions fellow, I understand how admissions readers evaluate leadership, career logic, school fit, recommendations, interviews, and personal differentiation. As a career coach and former consultant/hiring manager, I also help clients build MBA narratives that make sense beyond admission: why this degree, why now, why this school, and why your goals are credible. I work best with applicants who want thoughtful, strategic, high-touch coaching. I’ll help you pressure-test your school list, sharpen your positioning, build a compelling resume, craft authentic essays that tell your unique story, prepare recommenders, and walk into interviews with clarity and confidence.

Former Wharton Staff | 200+ M7 Admits | Expert MBA Coach

I spent 12 years as a staff member at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, working closely with MBA students and supporting the admissions team. During my tenure at Wharton, I acted as a trusted adviser to prospective applicants as well as admitted and matriculated students. I conducted admissions chats with applicants early in the admissions process, administered interviews with hopeful students, read and reviewed completed applicant files, and also participated in admissions committee meetings. Additionally, I also represented the school at recruiting and welcome events. Prior to joining Wharton, I spent 5 years as a journalist, writing and editing for a number of mid-sized newspapers on both the East and West coasts. I earned my undergraduate degree in journalism from Penn State University and I also hold a Masters in Liberal Arts from the University of Pennsylvania.

Now, I leverage that experience to help applicants navigate the MBA admissions process with clarity and confidence. My approach is straightforward and supportive, focusing on bringing out your genuine story rather than fitting you into a mold. I recognize that the admissions process is.... a lot - I'll push you to make sure you're reaching your full potential and leaving nothing off the table, while also coaching through the inherent stress and anxiety that comes along with the process. Whether you're a traditional applicant or come from a non-traditional background, I provide strategic guidance tailored to your unique path. Booth, LBS & Yale Adcom | 20+ Yrs MBA coaching | 800+ M7 Admits| +$5M in $$

With nearly 30 years of undergraduate and graduate admissions and consulting experience, few consultants have read as many or as diverse a subset of applications as Christine. Her experience at Chicago Booth, London Business School and Yale School of Management, in particular, have enabled Christine to collect one-of-a-kind expertise that has proven invaluable to helping countless clients gain admission to the world's elite global business school, and top-ranked undergraduate university programs, amongst others. While most coaches have undergraduate and graduate degrees from top program and have guessed why they were admitted, Christine and her a very small subset of former admissions officer peers have actually crafted classes, and know why and how people are admitted. With all this experience, you may be surprised to learn, Christine didn’t come to private consulting naturally. As a first generation college student committed to student service and helping those with less traditional family/education/professional pedigree, she has always felt like a bit of a traitor moving into private consulting after her years committed to serving students on the University side. She crossed over to admissions consulting to stay committed to helping people tell their stories, find what differentiates them, and guide people on their journey to finding a program that is the ideal match for achieving their goals. While she always loves a strong finance candidate, consultant, or marketer, she admits to having soft spots (and a bit of a niche) for international, first generation, low income, military, non-traditional, women, and diversity applicants. Christine is a tell-it-like-it-is, no-nonsense, realist who will help you craft an accurate story of yourself instead of spinning a story from something that isn’t there. She has deep knowledge of the application process beyond just essay crafting. She is committed, responsive, helpful, and invested in her client’s success. She has curated a unique skillset with a diverse domestic and international perspective few have and might be just what you are looking for!
