Non-Target to J.P. Morgan M&A: What Worked
About the event
I didn't come from a target school or have a built-in Wall Street network. My first internship wasn't even in finance. I started at Baruch College, worked and interned throughout my 4 years, graduated during COVID, began my career in capital markets, and eventually lateraled into J.P. Morgan's M&A group. In this livestream, I'll share what actually worked along the way including how I found internships, approached networking, tracked applications, prepared for interviews, and learned to tell a story that made sense despite a nontraditional background. I'll also cover the mistakes I made, what I'd do differently today, and practical advice for students and young professionals navigating investment banking recruiting. Join me Friday, November 27 at 5:30 PM ET for a 30-minute career story and recruiting discussion, followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A.
