Finding Your MBA Story: Confused About What Makes You "Unique"? [8/25/2026] (Recording)
Most MBA essays sound exactly alike. Yours doesn't have to. If you have ever stared at a blank essay prompt and thought "I don't know what makes me different" — this session is for you. The truth is that uniqueness is almost never what you think it is. It's rarely the startup you launched or the award you won. It's usually something quieter — how you think, how you connect, how you move through the world. And it's almost always already there. We just have to find it. In this drop-in session we'll cover: Why "standard" profiles actually have more to work with than they think How to find the thread that makes your story specific, coherent, and unmistakably yours How to align your essays, recommendations, and goals around one identity What admissions committees are actually looking for — and why being "impressive" is not the same as being memorable Bring your blank page. Bring your doubts. Bring the question you're embarrassed to ask. We'll find your story together — and we'll give you real answers, not generic advice. Your story is in there. We just have to find it.
From Analysis to Answer: How to Build a Confident Case Recommendation [8/13/2026] (Recording)
Case frameworks and exhibit reads get most of the attention in consulting prep. The synthesis almost never does. Knowing the answer isn't enough. Being able to drive toward a clear, confident recommendation under time pressure, with ambiguous data, is a skill, and most candidates haven't practiced it deliberately. As a former BCG interviewer, I've watched strong cases fall apart at the end and mediocre ones recover because of a sharp synthesis. This session is focused on one thing: how to close. What Interviewers Are Evaluating at the End of a Case: The synthesis is the moment where everything you've done comes together — or doesn't. -Why synthesis is harder than it looks and why interviewers weight it as heavily as they do -The difference between summarizing what you found and actually making a recommendation -What "structured" means in the context of a synthesis A Framework for Building Your Recommendation: How to land on a clear answer even when the data isn't clean. -What to lead with and what to leave out when you're synthesizing under time pressure -How to structure a recommendation so it sounds decisive without overstating certainty -How to handle it when you're genuinely unsure what the answer is, and what interviewers are looking for in that moment Live Walkthrough: A full synthesis applied to a real case, from the data on the table to the final recommendation, including a side-by-side of what a strong synthesis sounds like vs. a weak one.
Decoding Tech Performance Reviews [9/17/2026] (Recording)
Performance reviews in tech can feel mysterious, especially when you work hard, deliver meaningful things, and still walk away unsure how your rating was decided. In this live session, I’ll break down what typically happens behind the scenes in performance reviews and calibration conversations. We’ll talk about what managers are actually looking for, why impact can be hard to communicate, and how to have better conversations with your manager before the next review cycle. You’ll leave with: - A clearer understanding of how reviews and calibration tend to work - The difference between activity, output, and impact - A better sense of what “performing at level” really means - Three practical questions to ask your manager - A framework for thinking about feedback, promotion, and your next move This is for software engineers and engineering managers who are preparing for a review, trying to make sense of a past review, or considering how to position themselves for more scope and growth. Bring your questions...I’ll leave time for live Q&A.
What You Need to Know for the GSB Interview [10/5/2026] (Recording)
The GSB interview isn't really testing whether you can recite your resume, it's testing whether you can talk about ambiguity without over-explaining it. This session breaks down what Stanford's interviewers are actually listening for in the "tell me about a time" questions, and how the follow-up probes work when an answer sounds too rehearsed. Ben has sat across the table from hundreds of GSB applicants and has a clear read on what separates a candidate who sounds prepared from one who sounds coached. If you already have your invite, this is a chance to pressure-test how you would answer under real follow-up questions, not just polish a script.
Why You? Building Your PE Interview Story [10/21/2026] (Recording)
PE interviews spend surprisingly little time on modeling and a lot of time on one question: why you, why this fund, why now. Candidates who clear the technical screen still stumble here because they haven't built a story that connects their background to a specific investing thesis. This workshop breaks down how to frame your path, your deal experience (or lack of it), and any non-traditional background into something a partner remembers. Adam has sat on both sides of PE interviews and has a clear read on what separates a forgettable answer from one that gets a candidate to the next round. If you're prepping for first rounds or still shaping how you talk about yourself, this is a chance to pressure-test that story before it matters.

Here's what we'll cover: The Offer Void: Why strong candidates lose offers they should have won, and what's actually happening behind the scenes. Decoding Hidden Questions: What "Tell me about a time you failed" and "Why are you leaving?" are actually asking and how to answer the question behind the question. Interview Do's and Don'ts: The specific habits that cost candidates offers, and the moves that build trust fast. The Offer Call: The Triple Win strategy across financial, lifestyle, and growth. How to use market data instead of "I want" and the rule for handling any offer without leaving money on the table. Come with your toughest interview question. We'll address as many as we can in live Q&A.
Developing Your MBA Story [6/7/2026] (Recording)
Your MBA story is the most important part of your application. The best applications use the story as a foundation that guides everything - the essays, the recommendations, the interview answers, even your resume! However, too many applicants fail to do this and instead submit vague or disjointed applications that leave admissions committees unimpressed. During this session, I will teach you how to develop a cohesive and thoughtful MBA story that will clearly explain: your background, why you need an MBA, and why you deserve to go to the school you are applying to - all in a way that will show admissions committees that you are ready for your MBA!
